Strong Tower Ministries - What we believe

God

We believe that there is one God (1 Corinthians 8:6, Ephesians 4:6) who expresses himself in the person of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost (John 1:1-2,14; 1 John 5:7, Isaiah 9:6, Hebrews 1:8-10). This is known as the God Head (Romans 1:20) or what we call the Trinity – three (3) manifestations of the God Head, each one with a specific purpose to reveal to mankind who God is in love, power,  conduct, character, grace, expressing himself as the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost and yet be one God.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the Word of God, written by Inspiration of God. It is profitable for teaching, rebuke, correction, and instruction in righteousness (2Timothy 3:16-17). We accept the Bible as our infallible guide relating to conduct and doctrine (2 Peter 1:21).

Sin

We believe man  and woman fell from his original state of righteousness and holiness, by disobedience, into a state of death by sin. That death, or seperation from God, was passed onto all mankind until they are saved and born again of the Spirit (Genesis 2:15-17, 3:17-19; Romans 5:12-21, 6:23; John 3:3).

Salvation

We Believe That:

  • Jesus Christ was born of the Virgin Mary (Luke 1:26-35, Isaiah 7:14).
  • He came into the world, that the world through Him might be saved (John 3:16-17; Romans 5:10, Galatians 1:1-5, I Timothy 1:15).
  • Jesus is the Lamb of God that died for our sins (John 1:29, I Peter 1:18-19).
  • There is no other way to obtain salvation other than at the name of Jesus (Acts 4:10-12, Philippians 2:5-11).
  • Jesus is the mediator between God and man (I Timothy 2:5-6, Hebrews 9:13-15).
  • Jesus is the Word made flesh (John 1:1-3, 14; I Timothy 3:16; Revelation 19:13).
  • Jesus is the express image of God and all things were made by him (Hebrews 1:1-3; Colossians 1:12-17; II Corinthians 4:3, 4).
  • That repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ produces the work of justification in the believer (Romans 5:1-3, 8-9).
  • That if we confess Jesus, as our Lord and Savior, and believe in our heart that God has raised him from the dead, we shall be saved (Romans 10:8-13).

Spiritual Gifts

We believe in the gifts of the Spirit, and that the Holy Spirit gives these gifts as He will to members in the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12).

Church Ordinances

We believe that water baptism is an essential part of the Christian experience and is to be performed only on repentant believers.  This is done by immersion and in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost and in the authority of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:37-38, 8:35-38). We also believe in the observance of Communion (1 Corinthians 11:23-26).

Giving

We believe the manner in which ministries are financially supported and sustained is by the giving of God’s people.  The manner in which we should give is in accordance with 1 Corinthians 16:1-2 and 2 Corinthians 9:6-12.

Hell

We believe hell is real.  The wicked, those who reject Jesus as Lord and Savior, will go to hell to await the Day of Judgment, and after the judgment be cast into the lake of fire.   The fearful, unbelieving, abominable, whoremongers, sorcerers, idolaters and liars shall have their part in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death (Luke 16:19-31,  2 Peter 2:9, Revelation 20:11-15, 21:8).

Heaven

We believe that heaven is real, and to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:1, 8; Philippians 1:21-23; Revelation 6:9-10). We believe in the rapture of the church.  Although the word rapture is not found in the Bible, its meaning is the same as the word caught up. It means to be carried off, grabbed quickly, snatched up, the act of transporting (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18,  1 Corinthians 15:51-54).
